Exciting investments coming to Utah in 2024!

Joshua Berrett March 5, 2024

Utah's growing economy, booming job market, and access to recreation make it one of the most desirable places to live in the US — and it's about to become even better! From playgrounds and power to entertainment and eating, we've found some big things in store coming to Utah in 2024.

Cheesecake Factory

A new location of The Cheesecake Factory restaurant is coming to University Place Mall in Orem in the fall of 2024. The restaurant will be replacing Los Hermanos, which is moving back to downtown Provo.

The Orem location will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner as well as brunch on the weekends. The Cheesecake Factory is known for its massive menu that boasts over 250 items and more than 30 cheesecakes.

Marquee Park

Lehi’s $17 million Marquee Park is scheduled to finish in August 2024 after years in the making. The park will be the biggest in Utah County, potentially Utah, and will be centered around convenience for varying abilities and disabilities.

The family park (1999 N 600 E) will offer:

  • Fully fenced facility with only one entrance
  • Aviation theme
  • Sensory garden
  • Mild and medium splash pad areas
  • Walking paths
  • Play areas separate from water features
  • Shade structures
  • Seating areas
  • Amphitheater

The first few phases of the park including the splash pad and soccer field will be completed by mid-June ahead of playground completion.

Kevin Costner Film Studio

Actor and filmmaker, Kevin Costner, is building a brand-new film studio located in St. George, Utah, about 30 minutes outside of Zion National Park. Named Territory Film Studio, Costner plans to build 152,750 square feet of studio space near the airport, complete with a “Costner-themed” restaurant.

Costner’s two upcoming movies, Horizon: An American Saga, were filmed in Utah, and are scheduled to release on June 28 and August 16. Construction will begin this summer with tours available after completion.

Underground Battery

Chevron owns the majority stake of two giant caverns, each as deep as the Empire State Building is tall, which will become part of an enormous underground battery outside of Delta, Utah. Unlike common household batteries, energy will be stored here in the form of  hydrogen gas.

Hydrogen is an alternative energy source to fossil fuels that doesn’t contribute to planet warming. Developers plan to produce hydrogen using extra solar and wind power in spring and fall when energy demand is low and store it to be used during summer and winter when demand is high.
